Use celebrity voices for GPS instructions

Animated films lean heavily on celebrity voices, New York taxis do too—why not the voice on your GPS that says "recalculating" and "turn left 100 feet?"

William Shatner's inimitable style would be a perfect fit for the medium.

auto GPSes: comet tail behind current location

Like hockey pucks on television, GPS units should show a trail behind the current location, fading out at a distance proportional to the speed of movement.

Doing so would provide a visual cue of speed and assist users in contextualizing their routes.
